Sidney Poitier
Song from Wet Paint's "Habibi" placed on Biography Channel
Oct 4, 2007
On one of my long road trips down to Nashville to see Sophia, my daughter this past year, I listened to the book on tape of Sidney Poitier's biography. It was fantastic! I actually met him one time when I was quite small at the broadway play "The Wiz" It was my very first play and he was sitting a few rows back. I approached him at intermission and introduced myself and said how much I liked his work. I must have been 10 years old. "Hi, I am Doug Elliot, nice to meet you..." I said. Now, I am so very proud that "Willow Western Wind" a song from the cd "Habibi" recorded on August 4th, 2002 for my child Sophia Willow, as her in the oven name was Zephyr, the western wind. The Biography channel chose to place this song on their show of Sidney Poitier. I am so very proud. Yippee, great to be alive!!! And having perfect self expression, creative and sharing this gift to all in many ways. love
